Thanks for your letter. Yes, I do remember you and your yummy chocolate cup
cakes at the Green Fair!

Glad the group is going well. Unfortunately, as you anticipated, I'm afraid
I don't have time to do any organising of events down here, but a couple of
suggestions you might like to think about:

(1) You could arrange a walk on the Long Mynd. People could meet at Church
Stretton station and walk from there. There is a wholefood cafe on Sandford
Avenue (the main street) called the Acorn which does vegetarian and vegan
food (not exclusively veggie I'm afraid). The proprietor is very amenable
and might be willing to do a special vegan tea for you (although I haven't
spoken to her specifically on this). Her name is Chris Bland and the
telephone number is : 01694 722495. The cafe is very suitable for a group
of about 20. If you did arrange something, she might help to publicise it
locally.

(2) Someone who's very keen to give a talk in the area is Geoffrey Thomas
of the Dr Hadwen Trust for Humanity in Research. Geoffrey is blind, but
does not support research on animals, even if there was a possibility of it
curing his condition, so he's in a good position to argue the
anti-vivisection case! You may feel that this would be preaching to the
converted, but if you do think it is suitable, you can contact Geoffrey on
01446 751406.

That's all the ideas I've come up with at the moment. If I think of
anything else, I'll get in touch.

but do let me know if you arrange anything and I'll spread the word to
people I see.
