Waiter, a steak please and make it snappy
A Telford pub is offering diners the chance to prove they are 'game' to try
something new after launching a menu of exotic meets.
Adventurous eaters visiting the Beacon Hotel in Ironbridge Road, Madeley,
will be able to try zebra, kudu, springbok, buffalo, crocodile, kangaroo,
wild boar and ostrich alongside the traditional English and vegetarian food
available.
The pub, which has recently been taken over by Loiuse Dale and her partner,
is running a tasting evening on Tuesday from 9pm to 10pm for gourmet fans to
taste the meats on offer.
This is the first time the Beacon has offered a full restaurant facility ad
Louise said she was sure the exotic menu would go down well.
"We have been offering the meats on menus in restaurants we have run since
1991 and it has proved popular. It may take a while to catch on but a lot of
people find it a nice alternative.
The biggest seller before has been crocodile which tastes like a cross
between lamb and chicken but all the meats come served with different
sauces," she said.
