On a couple of occasions Malcolm had asked if one of his speakers
could use the May social as he couldn't make it this year otherwise.

As the proposed gardening speaker has to travel a considerable way to
get here on public transport, which he says is unreliable on a sunday
anyway, and we are such a small group, I advised Malcolm that would
probably be best.
