Subject: [ltdrelease] 2nd Team training

Hi Release,

February's 2nd team training session will be this coming Tuesday (10th) from 8.45 at SSC.  So far we have 6 grads signed up and 9 people travelling all the way from Chichester.  Dissappointly, we have only 2 Skunks signed in.

Anymore for anymore?

Aidan

Subject: Core 2nd Team - responses required

Hey Release,

Last year, our Open Second team were the surprise package of the three teams that we fielded at Tour.  With a strengthening Women’s team and a stable First team, it’ll be tough to keep this mantle.

So, this season, we’re running monthly second team training sessions.  These are run at SSC on Tuesdays and the dates are in the diary.  Additionally, I’ve already had a number of people who have approached me to commit to playing in the Second team this year.  This will allow me and Nick Burbage (2nd team captain) to build around a core of Second team players.  Having regular players will bring familiarity and consistency to the 2nds, which our First team and our Women’s already have.

There will be new members and students who join the club and fit into the Second team around this core of players.  There will also be players who don’t make the First team selection and who then play within the Seconds.  But the idea is to have a spine of Second team players whilst these other players fit in around them as appropriate.

If you would also like to be considered as permanent member of the second team, then please respond to this email.  Please bear in mind that in doing so, you could well be excluding yourself from playing in the First team.  If you want the chance to play in the Firsts (and are willing to commit to the fitness and additional sessions), then please don’t consider yourself for 2nd team core.  However, if you want to play competitively at each of the Tours and you are willing to commit a moderate amount of time to attend the usual Thursday/Sunday and once per month Tuesday sessions, then this is probably for you.  Who knows.. next season you might have the skills and experience to be a member of the first team.

Please let Nick and I know if you want to be considered for the Second team Core.

Cheers

Aidan and Nick
