As we approach the start of term it is time to start finalising the finer points of the bunfight. We want charismatic, good-looking and knowledgeable people to be on hand to get people to turn up at the demo games. Sadly, most of the committee do not satisfy these conditions so we are going to have to get help from the rest of the club.
We don't need (or want) an army of people all day, but it would good to see as many people as possible getting involved at some point during the day. There are two key roles. Firstly, people need to be at our table to inform passers by what we are about and to generally sell the club to anyone from pro-athletes to social legends. I want people in skunks kit ideally, bring GB kit if you've got it, but we want to look like the serious team we are (/can be).
The second role is unofficial and against the rules but we tend to get away with it. This simply involves throwing around on the grass outside. This is essentially to show passers by how good you are, and ideally to get them having a go. Seems a lot like fun to me...
Finally, last year we were lucky enough to be near a power supply and could power 2 laptops all day. This year we may not be so lucky and may have to run charging shifts... For this reason I am asking anyone who has a laptop to offer it for playing DVDs and taking on data from people who are interested. I know of some reluctance to do this as they are scared of losing their computer. This is not really an issue as there are always enough people on the stand to keep a close eye on them, and if it is a real concern then you could be present whenever it was being used.
Your help for all of these would be greatly appreciated, encouraged with gratuitous blackmail and will definitely be rewarded with sexual favours... Please email me if you can help,
