North American reception was very good overnight in Nottinghamshire.
You could have been forgiven for thinking it was the middle of winter!
CBA was fighting with 1071 and WBAL was fighting with 1089.
I have been experimenting with a new phased aerial system comprising two
ewe antennas. There is still some way to go with the experiments but
the nulls obtained overnight enabled me to get in on channels like 1290,
1300 and 1310 very easily!
I recorded 1310 overnight and three stations were consistently fighting
with the noise but never became particularly clear. Carrier traces
revealed a further two or three signals which weren't far below the
noise. Spanish and American speech were heard, together with a music
station but I could not be certain with the format due to the very weak
signal. A guess at "oldies" wouldn't be far off the mark. Nothing was
ID'd.
Cheers all!
