Often the case, sadly. Being closer to the sea seems to help too. :0(
There has been quite a bit of west coast and Prairie reception on MW by UK DXers this last week, even into England. It has escaped me though. I did hear talk a few times on 1000kHz but it was too splattered by 999kHz. This would either have been KOMO or WMVP (Chicago). Impossible to know for sure.
CJVB 1470 was logged this morning a few miles up the road from here. I decided to record 1320 overnight but only IDd CKEC. There was presumed CJMR Mississauga on channel too with their usual Indian/Chinese broadcasts but I never IDd it. This was often stronger than CKEC but with much lower modulation.
I need to clean up my aerials. Too much noise, particularly on the ALA1530 which is not realy being used at the moment. I removed all the chokes off the feeder since I use this for TV DX in the summer. Must get them back on. Hopefully over the weekend.
Cheers
John

Just reading http://dxlc.com/solar/ about his excellent Vancouver reception. Last night at 2300 UTC I made a quick check on MW, and found no carriers. Looks like the game plays only on northern latitudes. Jurgen
