Hi Karen, obviously John Seymours book is the Bible of such subjects, there
is also Patrick Rivers, living better on less. This is more of an ideas and
examples book, tho' very readable. Would you post the recipe for the washing
liquid on an e-mail? As for the "reluctant other," why can't it be your
venture and he helps with the bigger jobs? The "backyard" books on
smallholding suggested that the smallholding should be the employment for
one family member with the others helping out when they were not doing their
day job. Not so easy now that house prices are what they are. I was amazed
the day my reluctant other was the first to agree a deal on my 2 dexter
cows, I was still thinking about it! This was several years down the road.
He always was good with the hens and rabbits. Like children, men need lots
of encouragement and praise, and then to think it was all their idea when
it's going right.
Good luck.

Hi

Anybody got any good websites or books they can recommend. There are lots
of ways I'm sure that our household could live a little more frugally, e.g.
we have made our own laundry liquid and will start again now, but I'm
wondering if there are other things I could make in a good quantity and
cheaper and probably even better quality wise than the shops.

TIA

Karen
