Hi, there were several estates of prefab bungalows where I used to
live and the council had decided to knock them down. The residents
put up an amazing amount of opposition to this and all had very
favourable reports on why the homes should stay.
Our last house was prefabricated concrete design and they were fine,
but once again the whole row was due for demolition as one had
concrete cancer, the metal in the structural supports was beginning
to rot. The semis on each end were privately owned and are still
unchanged as are their neighbours. There are always certain lenders
who will lend on these but they may take a fair bit of looking for.
BTW we went on to buy a non standard construction home made of wood,
It is second hand as a structure and has been here for over 60 yrs.
