John
Welcome back! My warmest regards to you, I've just recently come off
no-mail, so I can sort of return to the group - our move permitting. I hope
things are okay with you now and lots of healing <<vibes>> on their way -
hope your stay in hospital wasn't all like some terrible Carry On movie! J
Well as aforementioned, we're in the middle of a move, it's all ground to a
halt because of blooming drainage problem! Anyway, I'm having terrible
problems with my chickens, they don't seem to be laying at all, I know they
are getting on a bit now in chicken years, and they're free ranging all
around the garden a lot, so we might start finding eggs in the bushes or the
playhouse, but we haven't to date! They have been wormed, I've grinding up
pellets into mash each for them, they get their veggies, grass, water with a
drop of apple cider vinegar, a little poultry spice. They only thing which
is different is that they are enjoying the use of a different coop.
It's converted coop and may have too much daylight, as there is a large
grill of chicken wire at the front - so perplexing, but I hope to get to the
nub of it soon!
We've been given a little bit of land to share and have happily been growing
lots of different veggies, but then it all soured when the co-sharer started
liberally spraying Roundup (ewww) either all over his apples, can you
believe. I'm an organic girl, and this has soured our growing experience,
so now I'm on the lookout for more land <sigh>, perhaps I will be able to
focus a little more on this after our move.
Take care and stay positive - and happy voting to all that that applies to!
Karen

Subject: [SmallHolding] Are you thinking
Are you thinking we have given up the Group? Well no, we haven't!
I personally have been in hospital since the 7th. Feb with a few problems of
my own. Aunty Mabel is somewhat tied up and Keith is busy doing other things
for now.
For my part I've missed out on the best part of the spring, the planting,
the new growth of everything and the failure of the hospital to allow even a
sniff of flowers into the place!
Ah well these things are sent to try us!... Lol
So what's going on out there then, go on make my day!...
Cheers
John.
