None of us are trying to put you off. Far from it, but we want you to
learn safely. If you hurt yourself, or somebody else, it impacts on all
of us. Launch sites can get banned pretty quickly once somebody has had
a serious accident. Most accidents are beginners actually, have you not
seen the carnage in Poole Harbour on a good day?

Insurance is a must really, to cover your arse should you take somebody
else out. However, not having had proper tuition may invalidate it, as
you wouldn't be able to prove you did everything you could to avoid the
accident.

We are thinking of ourselves when we ask you to get tuition, but we are
also thinking of you. I learnt before proper lesson format came along.
I broke my wrist when learning, and having to watch others for 6 weeks
wasn't any fun.
