Happy Christmas everybody, I hope you all have a fantastic festive
period, remember to do some stretching especially after dinner !
GBSF have arranged a seminar for early 2005, Gilles Le Duigou is
coming over from France and is bringing Ingrid Graziani (French and
European Combat Champion for 2002 / 2003) with him. Ingrid was also
crowned as Miss France in the same year which proves that figter's
can be beautiful as well as effective. The seminar will take place in
Cambridge on 26th - 27th weekend, we at Spectrum will travel there in
a minibus, stay overnight in a B&B and travel back the next day, so
stat saving some cash and put the date in your 2005 diary of events,
it will be a great seminar, Gilles is about the best trainer in
France.

Thanks for taking them Jacqueline!

Pity none of us was actually showing correct technique when doing the
kick! :-(
But then can you blame us- I mean, techinques such as the Fouette are
of course only taught to the most advanced students and therefore 3
people who entered the World's and someone else who achieved a mere
100% in his grading couldn't possibly be expected to be doing such a
technique correctly.
:-D

Pass the drawing pins...

Hello everybody,
Gfd. Kickboxing Club are arranging an "open" training session on
Stoke Park, Saturday 21st August from 11am - 1ish (maybe later).
It will be a fun, social get together with some kickboxing and
Savate "fun, easy training".
I will be runnning a "Beep Test" for anyone who fancies being Vo2 max
tested - it's a good guide to your general fitness, involves running
between fixed points and a CD that "beeps", the more "lengths" you do
the fitter you are, the "beeps" start at walking pace, every 4 lenghts
they get closer together, as they get closer you work harder to reach
the cones, in the higher levels you need to sprint between the cones,
it is tough but fun!
You could bring a mate, girlfriend, parent, child it will be "free" and
fun, bring your own picnic, wine and rounder's bat !

I have been trying t get a copy from the maker's "Deadly Arts"
without much luck, apparently it will be shown on terrestrial telly
in a year or so !!
It was shown in Canada and I contacted a buddy there who taped it and
will give me a copy in Bulgaria in July !(it is US format too so may
not even work on UK video!)
If you could do me a tape I will happily cover postage and cost of
tape, even do you a copy of it!)

I'm sure someone else must have caught it but we just missed the
start... there was a very cool programme on Savate on the National
Geographic channel last night. Very entertaining for those of you who
know Gilles, florent and Richard Sylla, etc. Some of it was even
filmed at INSEP and Sport 7! In fact, would still be very
entertaining if you didn't.

If like me you missed some or all of it, the programme is being
repeated on April 2nd at 11am, again on the National Geographic
channel. If you haven't got sky, don't worry Rob will record it and
we'll send a copy down to Rossy if he hasn't got one already by then.

Start training now and who knows.......in December you could be the
official UK Savate Champion.
Th event will be held locally, extra training sessions and runs etc.
will be available throughout the summer and autumn. If you win this
competition you will not only hold the title "UK Champion" for a year
but also be given "first refusal" to represent the UK at the 2005
European Championships.

Hi Rossy,

Just thought I'd better send an email to say Merry Xmas to all, I
will be back in the new year. I haven't left without telling
anyone, just managed to get chicken pox at the beginning of
November, which got into my lungs. Not much fun, but I've been told
that they should have recovered OK by the New year.

I've been trying to email Dawn and Mariella to say hello but I've
lost Maz's email and Dawn's keeps coming back so could you say Hi to
them for me and say that hopefully I'll see them in the new year.

Hope you all have a great Xmas, see you soon.

Hi Liam/Olivia

I know Rach has already said so but wanted to say congrats about you
2 getting married.
Liv's mail said something about doing it twice. Has the first one
happened yet? If so, got any photos etc. etc.? Hope it all went well.

Also, you signed up for Texan Savate yet? And is your favourite
weapon the chair, the razor blade or the dog? :-D Are we going to
see you at the World's? Fighting for your newly adopted country?

Anyway, hope all is well,

James
