Sad news of the death of Grant McLennan, mainstay of wonderful Aussie band The Go-Betweens. Spring Rain, Head Full Of Steam, Streets of Your Town, Right Here and my favourite Bye Bye Pride (something about the oboe) - all great songs with a curious mix of joy and melancholy. One thing I always remember is that each LP title had a double L in it (until they reformed in 2000) and how an old German friend pronounced their name as the Go Bet Weens.
