Yes, down in deepest darkest West Wales now, moved to Carmarthen 3 years ago. Sold the FLHS to buy this XL1200R, only had 750 miles on it in 18 months but nearly doubled that in 5 weeks!
At the moment I'm Vice-Chairman of HDRCGB, but am stepping down next year to concentrate on my "pet project", which I hope will interest you all. On the weekend of 20th-22nd July 2007, at Kibworth Rugby Club, Market Harborough, I'm organising a special "50 Years of Sportsters" event, which I'm hoping will be the biggest ever gathering of Sportsters ever seen in the UK.
I will of course post more details as I go along, but do please try to attend if you possibly can; my aim is to have at least one representative model from every year of production in attendance.

Up over 26k now third set of tyres,And running like a good un.
How many miles on that Beemer you had ,still got it ??????????
I have slowed down on the mileage this last year,I started my own business
so i have not had much time to
go out. www.altonmobilityservices.co.uk
I do all my own servicing now after all the fuss i had with the micky mouse
dealer.
Its even easier than the harley.
Just do not trust them stealers to do the work.
The reason the Italians and one or two others are not there is the price of
the stands.
The Guzzi club stand was over five grand 6ft x 10ft.Not good value. There has
been a lot of talk about it
on the club site. The NEC is pricing itself out of the market. And food prices
are taking the piss.
Had a sit on the new sporty quite liked it,but my rh kneecap stuck into a
bit of plastic from under the tank?????
Do not know what it is for, being fuel injected.
Quite liked it.But nothing else really took my eye.
Still like the Buell Ulysses,But its still to high for me needs the seat
height dropping by 2 inches.
Mand is trying to convince me to buy a BMW k1200 but at 12.5 k its a bit
dear
nice tourer though.
But for that price i could buy a all singing dancing Norge and still have
the change for a good holiday.
Or cheaper still the new 1200 Breva with full luggage and a big screen.
But for the next twelve months at least i am stopping with the special
sport.
It will do everything i want at the moment.80 to100mph cruising on the
motorway.Good handling and i can get a load of
stuff on it.and the brakes are the best.I never notice till i get on a
different bike.Linked brakes rule.
Something i did notice at the NEC all the Chinese/Taiwanese
Manufacturers. The japs must be crapping themselves.
But its only what they did to the English firms in the 60/70's.
Also had a look at the touring V-Rod not my style.Bit to high now.
The street Bob is a Johnny no mates bike,or a prospects bike.not for me.
I am more touring based hooligan bike if you know what i mean ;^)

For all those who missed my trauma with the Will Burrow re-built gearbox, in short he took a shortcut, a bearing failed and left me sportster less for 6 months.
When I got the bike back it was leaking from the rubber grommet that
carries the alternator wires out of the primary. Back to Will's to be fixed with silicon as the grommet had been ripped while it was out.
Oil leak fixed, but clutch slipping. "Re-adjust" said Will, "it's been
dismantled and needs to settle down". I've re-adjusted 4 times now, and as soon as the engine gets warm it slips so badly it's impossible to do over 85. Sport Trans oil, i've even taken a little out to see if
it makes a difference. Zilch, slip sliding away.
I'm begining to think the plates have been contaminated while the primary was dismantled, because it didn't slip before it went into his workshop.
Anyone any thoughts (apart from cutting Will's hands off?)

Funny you should mention it Andy because I was looking at the self same
thing in a Halfords Superstore just yesterday and I came to the same
conclusion as you although I looked at the 1 litre bottles which were an eye
watering £11.99 each!
I bought a 1.5 Te bottle jack instead, much better value :-)
Strangely enough I was just browsing at Halfords to see what

I don't think it's possible to export the phot albums over to Yahoo, so any uploads will be welcome.
I'd be particularly inetrested in re-creating the group events, so if you still have pix of Sheep on a stick, John 'O Groats, or any other
meet, can you get them uploaded please. We've got 30 mb rather than the stingey 20mb offered at Wannadie, so take advantage.
Similarly, the contacts database is probably worth refreshing with up to numbers.
It's good to hear from so many names from the past. Kev, we've never met but you have often been mentioned at the meets, looking forward to catching up at the next run.

Andy the one I want to sell is a JMC. I've since fitted a Metchamex because I wanted to fit the Harrison brakes. I'm not sure of the actual arm fit but brake wise is you get the 2001 type brake it will fit straight away.

Hurahh!
Well done Andy and bloody good ridance to that pile of crap known as 'Dontwanadoo'.
Here's too a bright new future to all Sportster fans, past and present!
Duncan,
As long as it's bigger than the Yank version and looks good I'd be happy.
One thing I'd like is less ugly fittings than the slabby H-D version
and if possible it should be detachable leaving just a grab rail.
I've been working on some ideas for my own bike ( a slightly customised
1994 XLH ) since I don't like the HD rack and sissy thing at all and
wanted something more understated and elegant, even to the point of
junking the rear chrome rail covers in their entirety, though I'm sure
most folk around here wouldn't want to go that far.
I hope you complete the project, I'd be more than interested to see the
outcome.
Cheers
