Re: SPROGII - DecoderPro, and TF-4 (digitrax),,,, how done it??

Hi Andrew and other responders;

I tried all sorts of resistor combinations, but never across the
function leads,,,, wish I would have thought of that, sounds very
promising!

As far as I could tell the decoders (I had 4) never took any
programming.

A friend of mine sent them to me because he couldn't get it to work
on his system (he has Lenz), so, in the end,,, I programmed them with
my digitrax throttle after I cobbled together a programming track. I
never use a programming track on my layout, always bring it in to my
sproggy for real programming!

Anyway, I programmed them and sent them back to him, so I can't play
anymore. But I'm going to pass the function output resistor idea to
him, he also has sprog,,,,, maybe that's the key.

I'll report back if I find anything further.

Thanks all!!
Phil

Good Day all; I have the above set up, and just recently, like yesterday, tried for the first time to program a digitrax TF-4 function only decoder. What a...

Phil, some motors don't draw enough current for the ACK to be detected by SPROG/Decoder Pro. You may need to hold the wheels or some such to increase the...

Hi Ian/Paul, A function only decoder need to have a resistor (47k?) connected between one output of the sprog and the programming track, otherwise it can't...

Ian, Have you actually had to do this? You're the second person to have said this in two days but I've never had any reports of problems until now. Regards, ...

Hi Andrew, Yes, with certain locomotives I've always had to take steps like holding the wheels, or increasing the weight (same effect) in order to get the ...
