Re: [sprog-dcc] Re: BLI Blue Line SD9

Andrew et al in the SPROG group (posted to JMRI, as well since some
SPROG users may not be reading the Sprog group).

the Broadway Limited Sound decoder is in the engine. Sprog doesn't seem
to write to the CVs in the decoder.

I am using an NCE 14IT motor decoder, and the loco is a BLI SD9 which
contains the sound decoder.

my setup is Decoder Pro 1.8 with an older version of Java since the
computer is Win98 not Win98SE. just installed 1.8 in order to get the
new decoder definitions. worked fine with 1.4 for almost 2 years.

SprogII is as I got if from you, shipped 2/24/05, and I haven't done any
firmware upgrades. I did do the command script to make the sound work.
Decoder Pro is set to work in Direct Bit mode with both decoders.

the power supply is a Radio Shack 13.8 volt 3 amp unit. should I try to
find a Wall Wart with a higher voltage?
----
when I got the loco and the decoder, I installed them with the defaults,
and all worked on 03.

then I removed the motor decoder, put it in a decoder tester, and set it
to address 533. when I put the motor decoder back in the SD9, it
responds to 533 with motor and lights but no sound.

I put the SD9 on the programming track with just the sound decoder
installed (as it came from the factory). I tried various ways to set it
to address 533 with zero success....used the Blue line diesel decoder
profile, and changed the address and 2 to 4 digits.....nothing....
then I went to the CVs and tried the Write button on each CV that had
been changed.....that didn't work either.. (this was the way I got to
write the CVs in the MRC Sounder, without problems).

I don't think the write to the sound decoder is working at all!!!

Michael

Nope, the Blueline sound board only does direct byte, which IMHO is pretty lame. - Dave On Nov 8, 2007, at 11:21 AM, andrew_croslanduk...
