Martin,
This kind of behaviour often results from using a power supply that
isn't pure DC. It needs to be regulated 12 - 15V. What are you using?
Can you try something else to eliminate the power supply as the cause?

1.7.5 I seem to get inconsistant cv1 reads other cv's much better
