You can set the sort order of messages? Just click on the link in the date column. Your preferences will be remembered, so you don't have to do it again when you return.

Ah yes. I did try that. My Notebook only has USB and EasyDCC assigned
COM5 via a USB to Serial adapter cable. This works fine. Sprog's
install assigned COM6 and I did try changing it to another unused COM
port. COM 3 & 4 appeared to be unused on the list so I tried COM 4. No
change to the symptoms.
That was all before I wrote my question to the list last weekend.
Now I am thinking on two possible tests:
1. Trying to use COM 5 for the Sprog as the EasyDCC USB is not
plugged in when the SPROG II is.
2. I have a work Notebook! I can try a complete install on this
other Notebook. It uses many different USB devices at different
times...... I also have a desktop PC near my modelling
workbench. Also with many USB ports. Can try it on that PC
perhaps before I clutter my work Notebook.
Will let you know how it works out.
