no USB response from Sprog II   Message List

New to a Sprog II and all worked fine last week. Last night had some issues
'reading' having DecoderPro find what decoder was installed. Tonight, looks like
I get no response from the Sprog II.

New install and setup a week ago, all seemed ok. I was able to program a new
Soundtraxx Tsuanmi decoder fine. Read the type, program, test run, no issues.

Tonight, I plug in the Sprog the USB LED flashes a couple times and goes off.
When I start DP, Java window comes up, and I get maybe 4 lines and nothing more.
Last week I seem to recall getting several lines and the LED would stay
flashing.

When I go to read a decoder, I get an error from Command Station. When I try the
Sprog menu and do a "get Sprog firmware version" I get "no reply". If I go to
the DC 'Throttle' screen and comes up, have a yellow LED, click and can not get
a red or green. The PWR LED stays lite so have power to.

So after various tries, settings, confirmed Device Manager says still "Com 3"
and DC has Preferences as "Com 3" and 9600 baud, no luck. I uninstall the Sprog
USB drivers and reloaded, no luck. So uninstalled Java and DP, and restarted and
tried a new install, loaded drivers, no issues. But no luck.

Symptoms tell me that, maybe the Sprog is not talking to the USB port, but the
USB LED flashes when first plugged in and Windows XP gives the normal ding that
a device has been plugged in.

So... suggestions, settings to check, options?
