Antisocial activity and spoiling the view   Message List

Over the recent summer months, on many (most?) weekend evenings there
has been a lot of noisy activity in the Lye (coming from the secluded,
heath and wooded area beyond the football pitch). Just after we'd had
the fire back in April, I walked through the area and there was
evidence of other fires having been lit, along with the usual, empty
bottles and cans. The police are aware of the problem but
this does not seem to have deterred those responsible for the
antisocial behaviour.

I walked along St Johns Lye road this morning and thought just how
lovely it was to look across the cricket pitch towards the trees on
the other side, and how tranquil it all was. What a shame it will be
if the council go ahead with their plans to build the new village hall
on the Lye and we lose that view and the feeling of space forever.
