Just to clarify my own thoughts. I think a 1 day show...NO traders or games staying over. JUST the competition guys otherwise there is creep..."can i pop in on sunday to see X trader" " I want my customers to be able to pop in on the sunday", "why the the refreshements so poor when I made all the effort to get to the sunday show that you organised" " I was very disappointed not to be able to use the bring and buy on the sunday as it is my day off!" etc.....1 Day = less effort for the members (it is often difficult to give up both days of the weekend) and encourages all the potential attendees to come on the one day. The competition gamers can have both days with catering . Are there enough members willing to man the bring and buy (2) ,catering (2), loading/unloading and door (1) for two days (step up and be counted) .If there are enough, then two days is great idea otherwise 1 day might be a more achievable aim?
(just an
opinion)

These are all good ideas. The one day show we've discussed before - buy with the Sunday as a 'free' open day, trdaers remaining to peddle their wares if they wish.

AGM thoughts
1.Make the show a 1 day affair (saturday)
with the sunday just for competitions and catering. This would focus all the attendees in to th eone day and be less of an imposition on members time.
Do a trip for all the members who help at the show (cinema, wargamse show, military site, reenactors kelham hall style event...)
2. Challenge cup. Do stab still have it Paul?
Interclub PBI doubles?
3. Stab to take on the other Bournemouth clubs........SDMS, charminster etc...
4.Some simple club project using plastic figures. Use HAT, revell etc.... Plan a big battle (dark ages to allow a whole mix of vikings saxons etc. ) Players can use between 1 to 3 boxes of figures. Simple rules. Agree a date. Figures only have to be based not painted. Whoever turns up on the day from any club can play. If you bring figures hyyou can use the. You can join any side. Massive board (30ft by 4 ft
All players need to do is buy a box of plastic men and turn up. Other clubs welcomed.
Massive battle??
Or do it in napoleonic...loads of figures available ( I prefer dark ages)
Needs about 3 months notice.
Easy to organise, good fun, club gets together, minimal outlay in time and money. Big spectacle....echo???

Our AGM is on our 2nd meeting of the month 17th September. 2 o clock
start. One of the topics will be the change of STaB convetion date to
earlier in the year and probable venue change as there are associated
problems with timings when it comes to a school venue etc.

I was proposing that we have a inter-club competition with our local
friends of Weymouth club on our first meeting in either October or
November which is either best suited for all concerned. two games of
PBI either pairs or singles. Miles.

I like the idea of "challenging" other Bournemouth clubs to
competitions etc. I personnal think we should have a bigger cross over
with other local clubs when it comes to competitions and convetions.
Like when Weymouth have Fisticuffs some of us from STaB help out and
put on a game or two. So i fully support any involvment form other
clubs because it gives us as wargamers an openning to game at there
clubs on other days etc.
So poeple are in support of a pairs PBI competition. the idea was
tried at PP open weekend and it worked out very well.
Which weekend would be better the October or November ?
I think the one day show with the option of a 2nd day (Free or Open)
for the competitions and large games etc is the best option as it
would generate more interest and committiment from more of the
members.
Miles.

Well, I always put a game on at other shows for the club. Paul used to too. Our profile is very good for that. Once we sort out when our new show will be and the format I'd like to carry some publicity material for it when I do shows. After Colurs this Saturday I'm doing Warfare next. However, my commitment to shows means I can't guarantee attendence at other club meetings always.
