I have been talking to a local Role playing club. Who put on a
successful show at Naish holiday club every year. it's a 5 day
affair the first week in Febuary, all profits go to charity. Its
always several thousand pounds.
I am hoping that they will put on a show at our old venue ie
Portchester school, If the club and any other wargamming club in
Bournemouth wants to get involved ? ? ?
Here is a copy of an email I received concerning there possible
interest.
This would mainly be a Wargamming Show rather than a trading
show.Any view/ ideas to me please and I will happly forward them to
Andrew.
I am also hoping to run a limited PBI competition in late March,
possiable at Tuckton, this would be a 1 day 3 game affair as set out
by Portbury club with a bout 20 compeitors.
Views and comments please ! ! ! Miles.

Hi Miles,

Sorry I was a bit slow in getting back to you.

I've thought about this...and..

I will need to know some financial based stuff, before I can commit
or convince the Friday night club to invest.

1. We will need to know what the exact current arrangements are with
the school. I.e. If a prepayment/deposit is required, or whether
they invoice us after the event.

2. Costs. (Hire, caretaker, PL Insurance)

3. Current arrangements with Traders, if we are just doing this for
one year, we do not want to vary the costs for the traders from what
Stab charge.

4. Space (i.e. whether the additional area i.e. Gym is available)

5. Times of opening and closing.... I would probably go with the
current timings. How late can we go on the Saturday?

All this considered, I would also need to know what the views of
Stab are... and whether we can rely on certain information being
openly exchanged..i.e. contact numbers for the traders.

I will also need to know what arrangements have been made in the
past regarding overnight accomodation for those attending. Do you
supply tel.nos for B&B's etc or let them organise it themselves?

I'm assuming that this is a "One Off" and that STAB will retain the
date for the following year.

SECONDLY

I have had a word this morning with the manager of Hoburne Naish
about the possibility of using thier site in November 2007 for a
combined Wargames/RPG weekend event. Friday night to Sunday
night...with accommodation and the same arrangements as we have at
Conception.

I would be willing either to help organise this on Stabs behalf or
associated with the Friday club. The only problems that I can
foresee is the relative lack of space for wargames/traders. There is
room for about 6-9 traders (Depending on how large their stalls are)
in the main hall. (the Bring and Buy being on the stage).

We could happily fit about 8 largish wargames in the main hall.
(with additional space for perhaps 4-6 more in two other quiet
locations). The remainder of the space would house the RPG's.
(Additional RPG's would be run in the larger lodges...about 4-
6...with other ad-hoc games being run in the attendees lodges...).

I will be tabling the motion for regular wargaming/rpg events to be
run monthly on Sundays (venue as yet to be decided...) as part of
the Friday night club this Friday at our AGM. What are the dates
that Stab meet? (So we don't clash...)

THIRDLY

As part of a STAB run show, we need to consider the charges made for
RPGers. We charge an amount per game played and provide some sort of
reward for the referrees. I think perhaps we might get away with
free entry for the Referrees and charging a set additional £4 (two
day ticket) for the players which allows them to play in any RPG's.
I need to think more about this...

Ta

Andrew
