ST MARYS ISLAND CHURCH

MIDWEEK PRAYER

St Marys Island church meets once a month for prayer. This is considered  vital to the future health of our church because it is essential that we spend time communicating with God who is the driving force in what we do. The prayer time starts at 7.00 and lasts for one hour. We experiment with different forms of prayer but the contemplative sessions have proved to be particularly successful.

The leaders of the church are very conscious of the time commitments that constrain particularly those at work. Therefore we try to vary the day between Tuesdays and Wednesdays so that those with regular weekly commitments will at least be able to make some of the prayer times. It is also perfectly acceptable for anyone to join the prayer session late and leave early. Dates have been arranged for the rest of the year as follows;

Wednesday 5 August   -   John/Martin

Wednesday 9 September   -   Ernie/Janet H (Tuesday is unavailable)

Wednesday 7 October   -   Bernie/John

Tuesday 3 November   -   Janet A/Sandi

Wednesday 2 December   -   Jacqui/Carol

The church council has made these dates a priority. You might like to do the same. Everyone is welcome. It is a time for quiet reflection as we turn to God with our daily routine or with our problems. It is a time of refreshment in a busy environment.

Bernie and John
