Here is our first prayer update for the new academic year!!

 

Your prayers have been so important in the past two months as we have taken part in a whole raft of summer activities, as well as running our annual Falcon Camp and taking a team to Romania.  As I look back at what God has achieved through us I feel overwhelmed, and understand why I feel a little drained!!

 

Some points for prayer in the coming month;

-          Trustees away days on the 28^th-29^th September.  This will be a key time for Gillingham YFC as we seek God’s face for our short and medium term future.  Please pray for wisdom, dreams and visions, and that we will have ears to hear what God is saying to us and the courage to act upon it.  Also thank God for our trustees who spend much time in prayer and thought for GYFC

-          Please pray for Becca and Jess our two new volunteers who began work with us this week.  Please pray that they settle in quickly and that we are able to find suitable host homes for them.

-          Please pray for past volunteers.  Duncan Haslam has this week moved to Coventry to begin a gap year with NEXUS (http://www.nexustrust.co.uk/); Helen Ince has moved to Swindon to work with Youth for Christ and Jess Foster has returned to New Zealand.  Please pray that they will know our Lord’s leading and guidance in all they do.

-          Ben, Zoe and Emily moved away from Gillingham in August to take up a new post in Downham Market with the Methodist Church.  Thank the Lord for all they gave to GYFC in their time with us and prayer blessing upon them in their new venture.

-          Give thanks for Kirstie, as we celebrate the culmination of her hard work over the past two years in qualifying a professional youth worker!

-          Abby is expecting our third child who is due to be born in March!  Please pray for a safe and healthy pregnancy, and thank the Lord for the gift of new life!!

-          Finally please pray for Dave and Laurie Guard!  The team had a fantastic day witnessing Dave and Laurie promise their lives to one another in August.  Pray that Laurie will feel at home very quickly in Gillingham, that her University placement in Rochester will go well and for Dave as he learn to balance work with the rest of his life!
