Hi there,
Just a quick note to sympathise with your starting problems. The glow plugs on
my 306 xtdt seem to need replacing every 2 years and, in my experience, give
little sign they are failing to deliver sufficient 'starting heat' - hence cold
morning 'swearing' all of a sudden. Three of the four are not too difficult to
change but the fourth one is behind the engine plumbing so to avoid problems I
forgo the DIY approach on this jobby.
Good luck,
Nigel S.

I have had a 98 306 Dturbo for just over 3 years and it has always
started on the button first time come rain snow. It has also always
emmitted a nice cloud of smoke on cold startup for the last 40k miles.
Until last Tuesday when the weather got a bit colder round here, it
turns over no problem but just wouldnt start till eventually the
battery ran flat. So i hooked it up to my good old BMW 320 and it
still wouldnt start. I ended up calling out the recovery people who
took a few hours to arrive at wich point it started first time.
Every moning since it has been a B*****D to start sometimes needing
the BM to helpbut starts eventually.
After reading some of your other problems it sounds to me like either
glowplugs or injectors. Can you help me?
By the way the Battery is fine.
