I've also bought a cable the same as this for our portable CD player.
It fits my Citroen as well. It only cost about £1.50 or so from our
local B&Q warehouse.
Maybe youve already got one by now. Sorry for the late reply.

I have just noticed on the front of the factory fitted radio/cassette player in my 306 there is a socket labelled CD. Does anybody know what type of connection...

Sounds like you have the Blaupunkt 3040 unit which came with the higher spec 306 models rather than the much more common 3030 unit. The 3040 does have the CD...

Stuart, yes it was a 3.5mm jack. After going in to about 5 shops I got a suitable cable and pressing the src button to select the audio. Now I can have my mp3...
