XUD TurboDiesel - Clutch Feel   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1250 of 1411 |
Hello.
Does anyone else have experience of a 1.9 turbo diesel clutch?
My wifes car's clutch seems to be getting heavier to use. Is it just
us getting used to the car or is it really "that" heavy? Shes had the
car for about 2 1/2 years now, it's an XTDT.

I have a Xantia of a similar age and the clutch on that is so much
lighter - but they both should have a similar feel because it's the
same engine in there.

If it really is a fault on her car, how do I know if it's the clutch
pedal which is heavy, tha cable is sticky, the clutch arm is worn or
the spigot bearing stiff on the shaft? The cluth works perfectly well,
doesnt slip and the only "slight" other problem is that it needs to be
pushed to the floor to help engage reverse.

Any help or ideas appreciated.
Thanks.
Brian.
