The problem is that the cable runs in close proimity to the cat and
other bits of exhaust which drys out the lubrication over time so not
matter how many cables you change and how much u grease the spring
it's always going to end up stiff......

You can overcome this by either wrapping the cable in exhaust bandage
or similar insulator to prevent the heat from drying it out.
