it's true. although they did ship the 306's with one key with a chip,
and one without. basically, the key without the chip won't be able to
disarm the alarm or unlock the car's central locking. and if it has an
immobiliser, it won't be able to switch that off either. the "dumb" key
is basically for emergencies (and on some models, the boot key is
different to the main car key..i've no idea why).
