first time of day, the motor get a good RPM about 1000 and above, but i fell

I realise that this ng is more related to the 306, but i could not
find any 106 equivalent.
I am having some trouble with a 97 106XN:
the engine runs fine, but now and then gets very difficult to start.
the symptoms are best described by imagining what happens when the
immobilizer is on (the starter cranks fine, battery is good but the
engine just wont start). I am therefore suspicious of the immobiliser
(in the key).
This does not happen all the time, just now and then, making the
problem difficult to trace.
has any body ever had any problem with the keycode system from
peugeot ? or does any body have a different opinion on what could be
the problem?
thanks.
