This weekend I started to fit some 6x9 pioneer speakers in the back of the
car. I bought some MDF, cut it out to the shape of the parcel shelf, cut out
two holes for the speakers, and attached the speakers. The only problem I
have now is attaching the MDF to the parcel-shelf. I don't want to knacker
the parcel shelf, as when I sell the car,I want to be able to re-attach the
factory speakers and maintain its condition. If I screw the MDF to the
parcel shelf, will screws be strong enough to hold it? What is the parcel
shelf actually made from and is it hollow or solid through the thick
sections of the shelf where I plan to attach the shelf. When the MDF is
attached to the parcel shelf, will the cords which connect the shelf to the
boot door be strong enough to support it? The speakers are pretty heavy asis
the MDF.
Anybody got any experience of this?
Cheers,
James
