Hello Andy, The high revs is due to oil being 'pulled' into the engine. Diesel engines will run on just about anything it sees as fuel, engine oil included....

I had the same thing with the airbag, the wiring loom is under the drivers seat and get's bashed about when people put their feet under there, worth checking...
