HPfS post 2280
For many thousands of years before our calendar began, all the nations around the Mediterranean were influenced and fascinated by a powerful story. This was the story of the Son of God who was born to save the world, who died, but who rose from the dead victorious, having conquered evil and death. In each nation this God-man had a different name. In Egypt he was called Osiris, in Greece Dionysus, In Asia Minor Attis, in Syria Adonis, in Italy Bacchus and in Persia Mithras.*
At the time our calendar begins there were in this area hundreds of religious groups that taught this story, which they took not as a historical event, but as symbolical of a process which every human being must one day undergo if he is to achieve spiritual enlightenment and reunion with God. Their belief was that the Son of God must be born in the heart of man, that he must die in a sacrifice to overcome evil, but that he would rise again from the dead, thus vanquishing death.
Some of these groups we know today as the Gnostics. They called the Son of God Jesus Christ, but the story of Jesus was simply adapted from the Pagan myths that were thousands of years old. To the Gnostics Jesus was a mythical hero; the prototype of the human being who has cleansed himself of his earthly, mortal self, and has brought back to life the Divine Man asleep in his heart.
Some time in the fourth century AD powerful men in Rome were searching for a way to achieve total power over the “civilised world”. This had to be a method to enslave the whole population of Europe and the Mediterranean area, in mind, body and soul. They found this method in the myth of Jesus, which was known throughout the known world.
Hundreds of manuscripts of different versions of the myth of Jesus were circulating at the time. The men of Rome chose those manuscripts which they could use for their purpose, and collected them into a book which they called “The Bible”. Manuscripts which were more explicit about the Inner Christ in the human heart were destroyed. The Romans called themselves the universal church and this was made the state religion.
The church of Rome perpetrated the greatest betrayal of modern times: it declared the thousands of years old myth of the God-man Jesus to be a historical record. The idea of the birth of the Inner Christ was declared a heresy and the Gnostics were persecuted. They were killed and tortured and their manuscripts burned. All traces of them were removed as thoroughly as possible.
The new church declared itself to be the Body of Christ and its priests were gradually given power over all aspects of human life, especially education. It began to act as if it literally owned the souls of all human beings under its rule, and anyone who went awry was dealt with most cruelly, ranging from excommunication to burning at the stake. They set up an inquisition to make sure people kept to the authorised doctrine (see post 372). To dominate people totally it taught them that they would suffer eternal torture if they fell foul of the teachings, but that they could be saved from this if they confessed to their priest.
In later centuries the church split into hundreds of smaller churches and denominations, but the greatest betrayal of man has not been discovered, let alone been undone. In fact there are now vociferous groups of “Christians” who take the collection of Gnostic texts approved by the church of Rome to be literally God’s word, which has to be obeyed to the letter.
What has this greatest betrayal of all achieved? In the last 1700 years hundreds of millions of people have lived in ignorance and fear, and with the belief that they would enter Heaven to live in eternal joy with God by being faithful to the church of their denomination. This has deprived the whole “Christian” world of the knowledge of the process in which their Inner God can be reborn and so enable them eventually to attain enlightenment and reunion with God.
Instead of living with God after death, they are taken up into one of the temporary spheres in the hereafter which are controlled by the churches, and then eventually placed in a family selected by the church, in the process of reincarnation. The hereafter is filled to bursting with religious “heavens” where the dead stay for a few years to prepare for their next incarnation.
Why is it so important for the churches to have many members? Because the leaders of the churches can maintain their stay in the hereafter, reincarnation free, as long as the living worship in their church. Any kind of worship releases spiritual energy which the leaders of the churches in the hereafter collect and absorb, thus giving them great spiritual power, and stopping the wheel of reincarnation for them as individuals. They’re like a crowd of huge man eating spiders that suck the spiritual energy out of the living. (See post 2162)
Only now, in the Third Millennium, people are gradually waking up to this great conspiracy which has blinded man to the truth of spiritual enlightenment for at least 1700 years. I cannot properly express my gratitude to people like Timothy Freke*, Peter Gandy* and Tom Harpur* for bringing the evidence of the great conspiracy to the forefront.
But at the same time there is another conspiracy happening right under our noses at this very minute. This conspiracy, however, is a Divine conspiracy. This is God’s “revenge” on the great betrayal.
For the story of Osiris, Dionysus, Attis, Adonis, Bacchus, Mithras and Jesus has come back into the human consciousness with a vengeance! This conspiracy is so absolutely ingenious, so superlatively intelligent, that it is truly breathtaking!
The story I’m talking about is in the form of a series of books, ostensibly written for children. It makes use of extremely powerful symbols and archetypes which resonate with extraordinary force in the collective unconscious, making the appeal of the story almost universal. This means that millions and millions of children of every religious background, all over the world, are unconsciously absorbing the myth of Osiris-Dionysus-Jesus. The story of the birth of the Inner God, his death, and his resurrection is being etched deeply into the souls of innumerable children. This conspiracy can truly be called ingenious, because hardly anyone has the slightest idea this is happening, and nearly every religious person reviewing the books complains of its lack of (overt) religion. Only the people mentioned above, who take the Bible literally as God’s word, oppose this story because it aims to develop people’s inner spirituality instead of the blind following of the literal interpretation of the rules in the Bible.
The basic story is this: A prophecy is made that a baby will be born who will change the world. The baby is born and a star (Sirius) appears at his birth. When the king of this world hears about the birth he tries to have the baby killed, but fails. The child grows up in wisdom and in stature, and in favour with God and man. He performs miracles at a young age. But as he grows older he knows he will have to meet his arch-enemy: Satan.
The rest of the story has not yet been published, but all the elements are there for the usual ending: death and resurrection. Harry Potter will sacrifice himself to defeat evil, but he will vanquish death, and he will triumph in Love!
The consequences of the publication of Book 7 of the septology are incalculable. Many millions of people, children and adults alike, are awaiting the final book with mounting excitement. The interest in this book is unprecedented in world history. Six circles touching each other are laid out in a pattern in the unconscious minds of the excited millions. In the middle of the circles is a round gap, exactly the size of the seventh circle. When this gap is filled with the seventh circle, there will instantly also be an eighth circle filled with the seven. The eighth circle will form the Gate of Saturn, the gate to eternity.
This powerful imprint in the minds of so many millions will change history. It will be the foundation for a tower, a Tower reaching to Olympus: the ancient symbol for immortality.
Once the foundation will have been laid, the Real Church can be built by those who have completed their Tower of Olympus. There will be a gradual dawning of realisation what Harry Potter is really about, and people will begin to understand that their task in life is to become the fertile earth for the Lily in their heart. Like a stag they will begin to thirst for the Living Water from the River of God, and Harry, the Son of the Potter of the universe will be born in their heart. He will lead them through the seven levels of the Tower of Olympus, to the eighth level: the Alchemical Wedding of Spirit, Soul and body.
What the Romans did in the Fourth Century AD completely changed the world. Their acts resulted in the Dark Ages, and their teachings still hold a thousand million people in their grip. The consciousness of the human race has been moulded to their pattern. But now a new pattern is being imprinted in the human consciousness, starting from the unconscious mind.  How long it will take for the new pattern to enter the consciousness I have no idea. It could be centuries. But then God’s mill has always ground slowly but exceedingly fine.
Do you doubt that a simple story could change the world so much? Well, think again. Think about how the simple story of the little boy born in Bethlehem, who was crucified, and who came back to life, changed the world. Ask yourself how many people have been killed for not believing that story, or for interpreting it a different way from the powers that be. Just look at all the churches, cathedrals, monasteries, church schools and others ecclesiastical buildings that have been built in the last 1000 years to house the believers in that story. Think of the libraries full of books that have been written about it, the music, the songs, the paintings! Remember the annual celebration of the boy’s birth, which is carried on to the tune of billions of dollars. But, most of all, visualise the most abstract effect of the story: that on the consciousness of the people of the western world.  Try to estimate the strength of the belief of the 1000 million people today who believe that the story really happened on the physical plane, literally. Try to estimate the magnitude of the delusion, and how different the world would be without it. Isn’t it time humanity faced the truth?
I’m certain that the Age of Aquarius will bring a new world religion, based on the birth, the sacrificial death, and the resurrection of the Inner God.
