I've been saying a prayer I read in Dr. David Hawkins' work, "Unto Thee
O Lord I surrender my being and pray to be Thy Servant". I've also
prayed the Jesus Prayer, "Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on me" and the
prayer "Lord, make me a channel of Thy Peace."Lately, I've been
saying "I live, yet not I, for Christ lives in me" I'm wondering what
the Roscicrucian teachings say in regard to prayer. By that I mean
prayer to be "willing to give up the self," prayer for "self-
surrender." I've studied so many different ways to pray including
following my own inclinations; but I wonder to whom do Roscicrucians
address prayer - to God, to Jesus, to the Christ, the Holy Spirit, the
Tao, the Inner Christ/Self, the "New Soul" within? As for meditation, I
have been doing Transcendental Meditation for about 30 years and I've
practiced Buddhist Mindfulness meditation and Zen Meditation and some
Advaita methods of prayer (self-inquiry). I am receiving so much from
the Roscicrucian teachings but I have not found any material in the
books yet on prayer.
