Well actually I agree with you very much! It's even better in the book as the giant, who has just knocked the door out of its hinges, asks, 'Couldn't make us a cup o' tea, could yeh?'

Beside the humour, what I like about this is that this is one of the great moments that also occur in The Chymical Wedding. Christian Rosycross also receives a letter of invitation during a storm. In his case it's a woman. The storm symbolises the astral turmoil that a person who is invited by God to start the return journey to him, experiences. The alchemical force that changes a person from a biological child of nature to an eternal Child of God is of an extremely high vibration, and when it enters you it causes an astral, i.e. emotional storm of a very great magnitude. Our astral body is not used to such an intensely powerful light and power, and so it reacts most violently.

As disturbing as this may sound to you, if you are a seeker and you encounter a force that is in complete harmony with your natural emotional state, and gives you a feeling of peace and tranquillity, you can be certain that it's not the Power of Liberation!
Love from Hans
