site arose out of an observation that only a few people were keeping the
discussion going. Hans assured me that this is common to all internet discussion
groups.
Hello Loveday,
I am glad you raised this question. I am on other yahoogroups such as A
Course in Miracles, and an Eckhart Tolle/Ramana/Nisargadatta Advaita group and
I find there are those who regularly post; yet I have never noticed over the
years that there are only two or three regular posters. And I have never seen
the long lapses of time in which no one at all posts. New members join and
generally stay on those Lists so the Lists increase and the posting increases.
The numbers of posts generally are about 20 per day usually. On this List, I too
often notice my name as the last poster and this can be that way for weeks.
I have posted quite a lot on this group in the past; but since I have decided
not to become a Lectorium member, I haven't posted as much in the past year.
I think a yahoogroup needs tending and nurturing in a sense. Hans is more
than willing and happy to respond to any questions members post and this has
been wonderful especially for me when I was learning about the Lectorium. His
responses to questions about the Path of Liberation and the Alchemical process
have been so clear, in depth, inspiring, and helpful. Yet, for those who may
wish to discuss their own path, it seems to be superseded by the feeling that
the Lectorium is the only valid path to Liberation/Enlightenment which, of
course, could not possibly be true. Truth is not exclusive to any one path or
place. Perhaps this is why others on different paths do not post very much or at
all since there have been indications that other paths do not involve
surrendering the ego and the golden thread of the Gnosis is only available
through the Lectorium. Any valid spiritual path is about surrendering the ego.
Some have joined and shared somethings about their path; but left quite soon or
stopped posting because there is a sense that the List is Lectorium based and
perhaps not enough validation or at least acceptance that other paths could be
just as valid as that proposed by the Lectorium.
I also notice that when members post, there is often no response. I think the
moderators wait so that others will have free space in which to share; but often
the waiting and lack of response to individual posts can be quite long or the
posts are ignored for too long a period. People move on. If members ask a
question, that is responded to; but if they are sharing on their path, that too
often is ignored or is minimalized.
These are only my perceptions of course. I could certainly be wrong. I hope
other members will respond to your question. I know the Lists are very important
to Hans and he has given a great deal of time and energy to them. I think he
deserves an answer to the question. I notice Hans is always trying to make the
List better and more user-friendly.
