hi all,

first time to the tainted 80s experience on thrus, and it was fabulous! but most
disappointed
at lack of york interest, this is such a great night and i feel that more people
should know
about and come and apprcaite the 80s fun, especially those guys who were
donwstairs in
1331 on thrus and could have easily enjoyed some 'tainted love' upstairs...
perhaps a
solution is to gain higher profile in terms of lettting people know about such a
night - luckily
i work next door so thats how i found out about it! and rope those who frequent
the
downstairs bar!

in short had a great time, and flash backs to 'youth' of power dressing and big
hair - oh that
blonde were that good again!

thanks Miss Maz

Hello and thanks to everyone who came down last night. We had a
fabulous turnout and a great atmosphere. Even with an extended 40
minutes we still didn't have time for everyone's requests - sorry,
but we were inundated with them and there just wasn't time to play
everything! (Wasn't there a lot of good music in the 80s?)
Thanks to the regulars who introduced a lot of friends to the night
for the first time. Thanks also to the staff of 1331 who worked very
hard last night! Also, as always, the night couldn't have happened
without the assistance of Simon, Wendi, Jared, Steven and Alex, so a
big thankyou.
See what we played in the setlist below. We return on May 18th and
June 22nd, 8.30 till midnight. We're expecting to be in a new room
at 1331 next time, on the floor above our current one. It is about
the same size, maybe a little wider, with its own bar and toilets.
So head for the 2nd floor next time!

Hi folks, I thought you might be interested to know who the Tainted
80s Top 21 artists are, based on the amount of times they have been
played at the clubnight. There have been 5 different DJs so far and
you could argue that this list doesn't reflect their tastes or the
tastes of our patrons: If you agree or disagree or wonder where your
favourites are and why we don't play them enough, please post and
start a lively debate! We'd like to know more about the music you'd
like to hear next time.

The Tainted 80s Top 21
(Numbers in brackets indicate amount of times played)
Duran Duran (15)
Soft Cell (13)
Depeche Mode (13)
Human League/Phil Oakey (11)
Adam and the Ants/Adam Ant (10)
Gary Numan (9)
Tears for Fears (8)
Spandau Ballet (8)
Ultravox (7)
Frankie Goes to Hollywood (7)
Dexy's Midnight Runners (7)
Eurythmics (7)
Visage (6)
Dead or Alive (6)
Simple Minds (6)
A-Ha (6)
Yazoo (6)
Alphaville (6)
OMD (5)
Japan (5)
Bronski Beat (5)

Pet Shop Boys, The Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen, Martha and the

in the posts section of the yahoogroup at

Hi folks,

A quick update on the next night - we are currently looking for other
venues as Cert 18 cannot currently offer us a date in the next 3
months. If you could take the time to respond to this quick survey in
the next 4 days that'd be great, so we can get an idea of what people
would like to happen next. Please vote for 1 or 2 of the following
options we currently have:

1. Wait until at least April for the next free thursday night at C18
(if we can get one)- 11pm close
2. Have the night at C18 on a monday- 11 pm close
3. Have the night in a function room of a city centre bar, (eg Dusk
Bar, 2am close, thurs or fri)
4. Have the night in the function room of a city centre pub, (eg Black
Swan), whichever night we can get. 11pm close.

Thanks!
Christian V

Hiya there,
Thanks for your message. At the moment we don't know if we will be given any more dates at Cert 18, I spoke to them a couple of nights ago and am now waiting for a decision. If they decide not, we would have to look for a new venue so it could be some time, unfortunately. Sorry! Will post on here as soon as I know anything.
