Dear Friends,

Once a term I  organise a Milonga for the less experienced. This is for
everyone who has danced for one year or less (and for those who have
danced longer but are lacking the confidence to go to some of the other
dances organised).

This term, this special Milonga is on Saturday June 13th in Ashburton
town hall (midway between Totnes and Chagford, where I hold my
classes). It is preceded by a one hour beginners rough guide to Tango,
so if you have any friends you would like to introduce to tango, bring
them along!

7pm for the Beginners Rough guide,
8pm onwards for dancing
Cost �6 for the evening

This evening is part of the GOTANGO weekend, a weekend of workshops for
beginners and improvers.

mentioned please confirm this?  I've put a question mark against Ian's name as
I'm sure he was on duty at last Saturday's milonga.  I also need to know that

Milonga Marina in the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth on Saturday 13th June from 8pm – 1am, £10pp.
No need to book in advance or to come with a partner - everyone is welcome on the night. There will be a licensed bar until midnight. Please read the info below.

Venue and Parking details: It’s in the National Marine Aquarium, Rope Walk, Plymouth PL4 0LF (think fish!) and it’s on the 2nd floor. Avoid parking on the Plymouth/Barbican side because the pedestrian footbridge to the Aquarium from the Barbican is closed and it’s a very long walk round. Park on the Exeter side but not in the W J Multi-storey because it closes at 9.45pm. Use the Premier Inn/Lockyers Quay pay and display which is opposite. If there is no room left in this car park then two nearby side streets, Clare Place and St. John’s Road have on-street parking. Enter Rope Walk (Aquarium address) Plymouth map into Google and this will help orientate you.

Hello Everyone,

It seems that the original of this one didn’t get through. It had the wrong date on it which I’ve now altered here to the correct date. If you’ve received it more than once, I can only hang my head.

The next Basics Builder is in Birdwood House tomorrow night - Mon 25th May. The Basics Builder is a 1-Hour Drop-In Class for all levels 8 – 9pm. No partner required, £8 pp followed by a 1-hour unguided práctica 9-10 pm which will be free for anybody who would like to come.

The class is for anyone who would like to visit or revisit the foundations of Tango to understand, polish, hone and refine them. We will work on the basics, with all kinds of exercises (mostly solo, but also partner exercises), designed to improve posture, freedom of movement, walking, balance and many other elements which allow you to dance confidently.

This is the stuff that really improves your dancing.

Leading and Following are tango essentials, and yet many people struggle with at least some aspects, or they try to memorize the lead for a certain move.
This two-part workshop gives you a complete, logical system of how to lead and follow anything that can be done in tango.

The first of the two lessons is concerned with the basics, while the second will implement the methods learned in lesson one in various ways.
We will look at centre connection, embrace, apile, direction changes without energetic stops, energy flow, space management, diagonal weight changes and more.

The workshop is for both leaders and followers and is limited to six couples. Level: Improvers and up. Please book as a couple. £28 per person, including lunch or £23 per person including lunch if you book by Monday 18th May.

in Chagford for a barefoot-socksy- tango on sunday
