was a fantastic effort by everyone and one that will stay in my memory for a long time .
it was a solid team effort getting everyone across and everyone deserves a well earned pat
on the back . the climbing conditions got worse and worse as we climbed , started of in the
sun and ended up in a blizzard , pretty awesome challenge but conquered never the less . i
would like to add that lisa did brilliant climbing the ridge , never moaned , unlike gaz lol she
did everything right and am sure thats a climb she wont forget in a hurry . big thanks for a
fantastic weekend , the team effort the bonding was second to none . long may it continue .

Well we are back in one piece....JUST heeheee. the most dangerouse ridge in existance during a snow/ice blizzard! but we did it. awsome team effort and one hell of a story to tell. the mountain rescue team had been called out for two climbers who where stranded on the horseshoe face of Blencathra itself. the team was stood down after the men where rescued by.....John- boy hardwick and Gazzi Park of the Edge of Reason Club. you had to be there to believe it.

many thanks for your efforts towards the edale trip - it's unfortunate that I have a very important interview on 25th Nov and I would have to sit and revise over the weekend - so againt bad timing at my end - sorry i won't be able to make it ):
guys the walk around edale will be on saturday the 21st october ,
due to shift patterns etc this is the only date that is available
to us all . any problems let one of us know please
johnboy
the shoes are actually size 7 as they reccommend one size bigger to accommodate thick socs and a bit of swelling whilst walking etc...
see ya.

We have often discussedthe possibilities of the group self funding relevant training courses.
One of the most important Subjects will always be FIRST AID...specifically for THE OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT!
I have been researching this subject for some time without any luck as prices are very high.
ACTIVE FIRST AID quote me - £59 per person for 1 day.
£120 per person for 2 days.
THE FIRST AID ACADEMY quote me - £190 for individuals.
£1500 for a group of 8 persons.
I think we can all agree this is just a ridiculas amount of cash, however; there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Basically through a more personal contact i can get everyone who attends a certificate for basic First Aid that lasts for 3 years and a second Attendance cert for a second day 'outdoor practical senario based' second day for as little as .......£50!!
this would be for a group of 12 people.
the price would go up for less numbers as we would be all splitting the cost.
For the 2-day course we can have the works for £600. This my friends i promise you is a bargain.
The course provider is a company owned by a guy caled Steve North.
I know Steve as his son Garry North used to Personal Train at our gym.
Besides running races accross the Desert and throwing himself around big mountains Steve is the head of Medical and Accident Rescue for the West Yorkshire Fire Service.
This guy is more experienced and qualified than a Paramedic, let me know asap if you are interested in early 2010 to do a course,
also thanks for inviting us for the meeting at your place in jan.
cheers
guru
