sorry i missed the bit about cost, the bodykit
and alloys (all fitted by ford from new) came withthe
car as my Mum bought it second hand at 6 months old!
but the KA was no more expensive than a standard one
(as mods dont put up the value) infact it was a
little marked down on price because of the mods (and 45
profile rubber costs about as much as the car again for a
full set!)

IN REPLY TO THE K+N INDUCTION FILTER I THINK ITS
A GREAT IDEA. IF THERES A WAY TO UPRATE THE BHP
WITHOUT THE PAIN OF MAJOR INSURANCE HIKES THEN IM UP FOR
IT, ALSO IN REPLY TO THE ALLOYS THING, I THINK IT
WOULD LOOK GOOD WITH A SET OF FOCUS OR FIESTA ALLOYS.

stick a K&N induction filter on it, you wont
regret it! ICE'll weigh it down...

the insurance
probably wont change, however if you dont tell 'em it
defianately wont

if you just get a K&N panel filter to
change the original ford one, no one will know it is
non-standard

You absoluley must put on new shocks as well as
springs, it is like jelly on a plate otherwise.

Ford fitted all of the gear to the car as new. It also
has 45 proflie rubber on, otherwise it would have
been a dead loss. yours looks like it has low peofile
rubber on anyway...

if you dont mind how much did it cost and was it
done by an independant garage or ford them selves
did you just have it lowered or have the shocks
uprated as well as. when i had the whole one hour of my
car being low i couldnt possible have anyone else in
the back as it was so low the tyre rubbed the wheel
arch

i really dont know how much alloys affect the
insurance not much i expect how ever the differance in
wheel size makes hell of a differance (corners at 45
mph and it sticks to the floor) yeah ive looked at
boby kits i want someyhing to make it stand out and be
that little different any ideas ????????

I THINK YOUR KA LOOKS GREAT WITH THOSE ALLOYS, I
ALSO NOTICED TH OTHER MODS SUCH AS CLEAR SIDE
REPEATERS AND CHROME GRILL WHICH WERENT ON THE EARLIER
PICS.
I THINK BODY KITS LOOK NICE(IF U WERE
PLANNING SOMETHING EXTRA:)), MILITEK, FORD AND A FEW OTHER
COMPANIES FIT AND MANUAFACTURE THEM THEM. P.S, HOW MUCH
DIFFERENCE DO ALLOYS MAKE TO THE INSURANCE IN TERMS OF
GROUPING, (THE PRESENT GROUP FOR KA'S EXCLUDING THE KA 3 IS
GROUP 2E)

IM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING SOME MODIFICATIONS IN
THE FORM OF ICE (IN CAR ENTERTAINMENT ) AND ALLOYS.
THIS WOULD LOOK GOOD AS IT WOULD GIVE THE KA A BETTER
STANCE AND A BETTER SOUND SYSTEM:), I HAVE ALREADY
FITTED A SET OF LOCKWOOD SILL PROTECTORS AND RACE MATS
BUT WANT TO DO SOMETHING TO THE ENGINE:)!!!!

lowered with 15' alloys and its perfect (standard Ford lowering kit) going to
give it a bit more ooomph too?

If I had a KA I dont think id be able to stop
myself from mofifying it, K&N induction filter, chiped &
uprated injection, fast road cam, gas flowed head,
performance stainless steel exhuast, and finally a set of
wopping alloys, id really like to know what a KA would be
like with a bit of grunt, and the insurance? well i
didnt tell my insurance company about the mods to my
XR2 and when the police disected it after the
accident the only yhting they noted was the air filter and
the wheels! however i only had 3rd party insurance
and got no money back for the smash.

HI, THANKS FOR JOINING, YOU MAY HAVE READ ABOUT
MY KA, THE MOST RECENT ADDITION TO IT HAS BEEN A SET
OF LOCKWOOD CHROME SILL PROTECTORS WHICH SET IT OFF
A BIT, I HAVE BEEN TOYING WITH THE IDEA OF UPRATING
THE BHP BUT DO NOT KNOW HOW IT WILL AFFECT THE
INSURANCE(ILL LEAVE IT STANDARD I THINK) I BOUGHT THE KA
BECAUSE IN MY VIEW IT IS THE BEST LOOKING AND BEST
DESIGNED CAR IN THE CITYCAR CLASS AND IT STILL LOOKS BANG
UP TO DATE EVEN THOUGH THE DESIGNS BEEN AROUND FOR 4
YEARS. DO U THINK IT COULD BE THE NEXT MINI?

It's an official Ford bodykit! Motocraft/RS or
whatever. My Mum got the car second hand when it was 6
months old and the kit was as fitted by Ford from new,
the alloys were a job lot also (15" with 45 profile
boots, they fit well too). The kit includes a rear
bumper spoiler which really does something for the KAs
rear profile. I'll have to get a photo of its hind
quaters at some point. Olso it has the big top tailfin
which has a 3rd breaklight in it. I keep marveling at
how goodlooking me Mums KA is, all I can say is if
she wanted to sell it I'd certainly empty my wallet.
