Re: [50mhz The Magic Band] Gizmotchy 6M Beam?

50.0-50.5 1:1 is neat but what about above that, please?

Is it the full-wave driven element entirely in the horizontal
plane that narrows the bandwidth?

How does this compare to a folded-dipole driven element
set horizontally or vertically?

There is lots of SSB DX from 50.5-51.2 and lots of FM activity
above that, would be cool to be able to get at that - perhaps
altering the length of the driven element (with switched
segments of tubing or something) at the feedpoint (rather
than out at the ends) to remotely tune it?

I think that these are two beams with radically different
design parameters - yours nails the gain and theirs seeks
to handle CW/SSB horizontal and FM vertical across the
entire band with less gain and probably a less clean pattern.

WDYT?

Justin, Pretty decent work! Approx gain/fb 5 el/6 m boom? Did you, by chance, ever try using a folded dipole as a driven element? Please give details so I can...
