AMECO 6M Converters - CN or CB-6 Better?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #158 of 210 |
Is there any reason to prefer the AMECO CN or CB-6
model 6M converter?

The CN uses one tube and three Nuvistors and has some
sort of control on the front. It converts from 6M to 20M.

The CB-6 uses subminiature tubes, is little smaller, and
converts from 6M to 10M.

A 10M IF would require only two crystals for complete
6M band coverage whereas the 20M IF could require at
least eight crystals. Other than that I don't know what
the reason might be for the 20M IF.

I have both and plan to keep only one.

WDYT?
