Low-Noise 'Urban' Antennas for 50MHz   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #159 of 208 |
I have just added the first of my Loop Fed Array Yagis to my website that have
been deisgned specifically to reduce unwanted city noise from any other
direction than the one your beam is pointing in.

If you take a look at the El plane of most Yagi's with less than 9 elements, in
90% of cases, there is a large lobe going straight up and down form the antenna.
This 'gainy' lobes serve to give out problems when transmitting but also to
receive noise form below the antenna regardless of the direction in which it is
facing.

The new LFA - low-noise design has been created to reduce drastically lobes in
any direction other than in a foward direction.

for more info and build dimensions, check out my site at www.g0ksc.co.uk
