I don't sell this excellent lacquer paint (yet), but I got the
opportunity to help someone out on the Scale Aircraft group site and
thought I'd post it here too.
"Hi Steve,
I can't provide advice on the shades and I have personally never
used Alclad, but this might be useful to you. A few months ago I was
talking to one of the staff at the Hannants warehouse in the UK (I
sometimes get some of my stock from there) and he waxed lyrical
about the qualities of Alclad for about 10 minutes! However he had a
few interesting warnings if I wanted to get the best finish:
- use a good primer
- sand to prepare the absolute best surface possible to spray onto:
Aclad magnifies even minor surface imperfections gloriously!
- lay on the Alclad a little bit at a time - usual many thin layers
advice.
The official instructions on Aclad use can be found at their web
site: http://www.alclad2.com/directions.html
The homepage is http://www.alclad2.com/alclad-home.html.
Take care,
Tom Jolly."
