Hi all,
Below is an email I sent to my customers and blog subscribers last
night, to which we have had a stellar response to. Just now I
thought, "What about the group members!" Doh! Apologies for not
tipping you off at the same time. Anyway there are still hundreds of
great deals to be had. All is revealed in the message below.
Unfortunately the original links have not copied across from the
original HTML email, so what you need to do is follow the
instructions for the search page in the message below.
Take care and hope this is of some use to you all.
Tom.

"I thought you might like to know that over the weekend just gone, I
have put in place a really juicy price discount program, which I
would have thought should definitely be of benefit to you as I doubt
there are many places where the price can be bettered.
The reasoning behind the discount program is an interesting story
(for me anyway but I hope you find it so too). It all comes down to
how I manage my stock. For each product I try to keep stock at a
level which is in balance with a number of factors including sales
history, the cost of the item, when it was released and so on. All
this is automatically managed by some quite complex equations built
into my stock management database and the end result is a figure for
the optimum stock level.
Every now and then I review the criteria based on where the business
is and where it is headed. Invariably this results in modifications
to the optimum stock level for some products but because this change
is usually not significant, nothing much changes in the catalogue
itself.
When I conducted my last review, I was faced with a situation that
stumped me initially. Quite simply the current stock levels for many
items are too high when compared to the new optimum stock levels.
There are over five hundred Airfix and Revell models that are
affected, some of which have only just been released! Now you have
got to be interested!
When it came to deciding on a solution I could have kept my pricing
strategy the same and simply let 'Old Father Time' resolve the
differences between the two figures; but I thought: "Why not give my
customers and subscribers the chance to buy them at what is
essentially trade price?" What I need to do is to synchronize my
optimum and actual stock levels as quickly as possible so it seems
the perfect solution to me, and I have to presume you are always on
the look out for a good deal. So this should work well both ways.
Anyway my decision was to knock a massive 40% off all of these
models that I currently have too many of.
Airfix | Supermarine Spitfire MK1A (1:24) [air12001 (12001)]
Yes that is correct.... Over 500 products are subject to a 40%
discount off our normal price, such as the Sopwith F1 Camel or the
Mercedes truck, both of which we have just received from Revell.
Revell | Sopwith F-1 Camel (1:72) [rev04111 (04111)]
In addition to this, there is another discount program which has
been going for about 10 days now but has only got a couple of days
left (as it will end on March 1st). Every Trumpeter model in stock
is offered at a 15% discount to our normal price. If you want to
take advantage of this you really do have to be quick.
Trumpeter | F4U-4 Corsair (1:32) [trm02222 (TM 02222)]
So if you want to help me out while at the same time helping
yourself to some cracking deals at the same time, simply click on
one of the links below depending on the brand you are interested in.
Airfix 40% Discount Deals
Revell 40% Discount Deals
Trumpeter 15% Discount Deals
Alternatively you can go to my catalogue search page (click here)
and do a custom search to see if any of the items on your 'wish
list' are on offer. All you have to do is enter "40% discount" into
the 'Search Words' box and choose from the catalogue 'Section' drop-
down menu below it. You can also enter other words into the 'Search
Words' box such as "tank" if you are only interested in tanks.
Revell | Mercedes Actros 1854 LS (V8) (1:24) [rev07523 (07523)]
I am convinced there is something for everyone in this discount
program so please do have a browse around before it is too late.
As usual we have also been expanding our modelling accessories. The
recent additions include Tamiya and CMK weathering products, an
upgrade to Tom's Sanding Pads and Bison super-glue gel in a tube.

I do hope there is something here for you.
Kindest regards,
(Tom Jolly - Proprietor, The Model Catalogue)
P.S. The 40% discount program offer only extends to items that are
in stock: once the stock has reached the desired level for a
particular product, the discounted price will be replaced by a price
that would have been in place were it not for this offer.
P.P.S. Another very important bit of information for you: the 40%
discount program is only expected to be active for the next two
weeks from Sunday 26th February 2006, so you need to take quick
action! Here is another link (click here) that takes you to a search
results page that lists a summary of all the 40% discount deals."
