Welcome aboard Ray, I hope the group doesn't disappoint! I know from
what members have written in their application message that there is
plenty of skill and knowledge here, so it shouldn't.
I suppose this is as good a time as any to reflect on the development
of this group since it's 'birth'. Although discussion threads have
been fairly thin on the ground since inception, the membership has
steadily grown, and I hope the group shall soon pass the tipping point
where activity starts to build further momentum. I would love to read
more about members' modelling exploits and yarns. And what about
pictures: we have the ability to post images on this group so why not
give it a go. I have created a new folder and a put a sample picture
in it. It literally takes a minute. Just click on the Photos link in
the menu on the left.
Going back to the sharing information, there is nothing more
frustrating than being really enthusiastic about something and not
being able to share it with a wide audience (in my view anyway). I
truly hope this becomes the first choice location to dissipate that
energy!
I will certainly aim to be a lot more proactive going forward and will
be looking to share my humble tips, discoveries and product
developments at the catalogue. For a start I will try and bring The
Model Catalogue Blog and this group closer together in terms of
content sharing, i doesn't make much sense keeping them totally
seperate as I have tended to do in the past.
For me the easiest method of publishing news to a wide audience is to
post an article on the Blog. Every now and then I will send an email
to subscribers and customers, which provides a non-intrusive summary
of the recent content. What I haven't done is post a similar message
here on a regular basis. Changing that is easy so unless any has any
objections I'll start doing that from now on.
In fact if any of you do read the Blog, you'll notice I have removed
the username and password log in procedure. It wa proving such a
hassle for some frustrated readers that it just didn't make sense
doing it any more.
Anyway, I can feel myself start to develop a touch of verbal you-know-
what, so I'll sign off now and I hope you'll all join me taking this
discussion group to the next level.
Why not start by telling your modelling acquaintances about it! All
you have to do is point them to the following link:

Kindest regards,
Tom Jolly.
