Hi Phillip,

Isn't it strange how if
something is really really important like staying warm as
you say and for instance eating! we manage to be able
to push ourselves that extra bit and find a way
around our symptoms! I don't think I've ever refused
food for OCD reasons and if I absolutely have to do
something then I think I can make myself do it and worry
about the washing rituals I'll have to do later,
although thinking about it there have been things I should
have done and the fear has been too strong, but maybe
if someone with me had pushed me the extra mile I
could have done it.

I do think that our recovery
depends a lot on who is supporting us, the type of people
they are as well, my husband was too enabling and
didn't deter me from my symptoms. We OCD'ers need strong
and persuasive, but also gentle and kind people
around us who can encourage but not bully.
love
Sani.
