Hi Tom....hope the move goes well....it's about time you got back on that
sax....I'm messing about with some Dexter Gordon transcriptions and
reinvestigating bebop scales from the 50's on to see how their usage has
changed....even the early stuff is interesting as I prefer the way Dexter,Jackie
McClean,Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk used the language to Charlie P.....that
may cause some debate if there is anyone out there still.....keep
honking.....Nik

Hello everyone. Long time no hear. Has it all gone quiet or have I been
kicked out?
Anyway, just in case I am still here, can anyone recommend any Sax
workshops? My sax ensemble are looking at doing a trip from The Isle Of Man
maybe focussing on a sax workshop/gathering. I have heard a few members of
this group talking about one in the Manchester area. Any ideas though on
costs/locations and recommendations would be welcome.
Anyone who's interested can check out the Manx Sax Ensemble and hear some of
our tunes on www.saxband. co.uk
Keep honkin'
Emma
