Alto sax   Message List

Hi to everyone in the group. Just to pick up on the older mature members thread
from last week. I am 43 years old and only picked up an alto 6 months ago, a
relatively cheap little number and is just something to use to ensure I can get
my head around reading music until I purchase something, lets say, a little more
expensive. As a person who never studied music as a child all I can say is that
when I do manage to string some notes together it makes the hair on my neck
stand up, and all I can say is how much I admire the top musicians who make the
sax sing. I would like to start a bit of a debate amongst you all by asking,"if
money were no object what would be the best contemporary alto sax that money
could buy?" When I say best I mean in build quality, playability, value for
money and most importantly sound. I look forward to reading your replies.

All for now,

Charlie
