The evidence base will be complete by March 2007 and we will then start developing the SDC position and recommendations from the evidence-based reports and by reference to the outputs from the engagement work. The SDC report will be published in June 2007.
Alongside the research, the public and stakeholder engagement programme is also being developed. The final form of the programme is yet to be determined, but it will involve stakeholder and public engagement at local, regional, and national levels. We will work with our consultants to identify interested stakeholders who will be invited to participate in the stakeholder events. This process has already started with the call for information on the SDC's website and this yahoo email group, both of which, we are pleased to see, have generated a strong response. The SDC will also run an online forum for interested members of the SDC's sustainable development panel (more information about how the panel works is available at http://www.sd-commission.org.uk/pages/sdpanel.html).
